A paddle float with dual independent chambers designed specifically for Greenland paddles

13 in stock (can be backordered)

Description

Anyone who has tried a paddle float rescue with a Greenland paddle has experienced the float sliding off the blade. This paddle float is made especially for greenland paddles, but it will fit most other types of paddles. The float is longer and narrower than most other inflatable rescue devices on the market. It has dual air chambers, each with its own valve adding to the safety margin. Should the paddle float puncture, you have a spare chamber to provide sufficient buoyancy. The float comes with an extra long strap and an interlocking buckle. The strap is wrapped around the blade two times and then tightened which firmly secures the float to the paddle. The strap/buckle mechanism relies on friction, and will tighten its grip in proportion to the force placed upon it.

Additional information:

  1. Afternoon,

Earlier this year, I purchased the Gram Kajak Paddle Float. I went to use it for the first time this weekend. I inserted my Gearlab Greenland Paddle and blew up the two compartments. When I got close to full inflating the second air chamber, the sticking completely let go on one side.
Needless to say, it doesn’t work to well like that. Not real happy with the workmanship.

    1. Kim,

Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. I am sorry you had this problem. We connected by phone and I know you likely already have your replacement. I have never seen this before in the roughly 150 or so Gram Kajak paddle floats I have sold. I suspect that the hot cutter used to sear the ends of the nylon tape for the edge of the float was not functioning, which led to a free thread, which unraveled. I hope your replacement will solve the problem. Let me know how the new one is working out!

      Paddle well,
